Acting Governor of Novosibirsk Region Andrei Travnikov Makes a Working Visit to Novosibirsk Electrode Plant

Novosibirsk, May 03, 2018 – Andrei Travnikov, Acting Governor of the Novosibirsk Region, visited Novosibirsk Electrode Plant (part of the ENERGOPROM Group) as part of his working trip to the Iskitimsky District. During the visit, the head of the region personally learned about the implementation of the plant's large-scale investment program.

"Today, Novosibirsk Electrode Plant is implementing a large-scale investment program to expand production capacity. The major area of this program is to improve the quality of products and increase manufacturing of graphite electrodes for Russian metallurgical companies. By the end of 2018, we intend to increase the manufacturing volume of graphite products of the Novosibirsk Electrode Plant by 10% to 17,500 tons," said Viktor Nechuyatov, CEO of ENERGOPROM Group.

At the beginning of 2018, we introduced a new furnace for direct graphitation. This thermal generating unit of domestic manufacture makes it possible to produce more than 4,500 tons of products per year. In March, the ENERGOPROM Group and EIRICH signed a contract for installation of a mixing complex at the Novosibirsk Electrode Plant. The output of the new equipment is 10 tons per hour, and commissioning is planned for the first half of 2019. The new equipment will be used to prepare mass for pressing UHP brand graphite electrodes. In terms of productivity, this complex is able to replace 5 mixer units of the old type.

The construction of 32-batch furnace No. 8 is completed. It will allow the capacity of the baking room of electrode products to be increased by a thousand tons per month. This thermal generating unit will focus on production of blanks for graphite electrodes.

The total investment in equipment modernization will be 1.2 billion rubles.

When the head of the region personally learned about the production, he noted that modern management methods and quality systems are actively being introduced at the plant, and serious consideration is given to safety regulations and creation of comfortable everyday conditions. "We will share the best practices of enterprises that have achieved a lot with newly-created or developing enterprises within our region," said Andrei Travnikov.
